Class 1 Truck Training

Mandatory Entry-Level Training: Class 1

Beginning March 1, 2019, all drivers wanting to obtain their Class 1 licence must complete the M.E.L.T Course.

Mandatory Entry Level Class 1 curriculum 

Class 1 - Regular price $10,000, Discounted to $9,975

Includes: 

Classroom 40.5 hours

In-Yard (around the vehicle) 15.5 hours

In-Cab (behind the wheel) 57 hours

Airbrakes:

Classroom 6.5 hours

In-Yard (around the vehicle) 2 hours

Total hours : 121.5 hours

Intermediate Program (1 – 2 weeks) – $1,820

  • 13 hours of in-truck training

Refresher (hourly course) – $140/hour

  • Shifting

  • Depends on skill level

Please Note

* Students must be at least 18 years of age and hold a minimum (valid) Alberta Class 5 (non GDL) driver's licence.

* Knowledge Exam required PRIOR to in-vehicle training or testing

* Medical Exam required before Class 1 licence will be granted

* Road tests = Examination Fees (knowledge and/or road) + hours of truck rental

* Book ahead with a group and receive a discount
