Dennis McCarty
Dennis McCarty is a Government Certified Class 1 Melt, 3 and Air Brake Instructor and teaches many other safety courses as well. He is the Senior Instructor/owner of AB RoadSafe. He has over 40 years’ experience in oilfield, trucking and truck training industries. He specializes in oilfield, heavy haul, over-dimensional, and off-road driving. He trained in Tusla, Oklahoma at one of the best heavy equipment training facilities for oilfield.
He’s worked in management at training facilities and been a transport manager for many companies over the years.

Corri McCarty
Corri McCarty is the office manager/owner for AB RoadSafe. She has 25 + years’ experience in customer service, accounting and business management.
Dennis and Corri opened AB RoadSafe in 2011 in Red Deer, Alberta. The school moved to its new location in Sturgeon County in 2014.
Their main concern is the quality and safety of the public, students, instructors and equipment.

Wayne Cardinal
Wayne Cardinal is a Government Certified Instructor teaching Class 1 Melt, 3 and Air Brakes with AB RoadSafe, along with various other safety courses. He brings close to 40 years’ experience to the school.
He worked as a transportation specialist for the Canadian Armed Forces. For 20 years, Wayne travelled all over the world training soldiers on almost every type of equipment imaginable.
Upon his retirement from the military, Wayne became a licensed Advanced Driving Instructor with CTEC where he taught ‘Advanced Driving Techniques for close to 20 years.
He joined AB RoadSafe in 2017 as an Air Brake Instructor and has since, been trained and certified in Class 1 & 3.
Jerry Laliberte
Jerry Laliberte joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a Mobile Support Equipment Operator in 1980. He took his Basic Military Driver Training Course in Borden, Ontario. He then moved to Kingston, Ontario where he operated staff cars and buses. He drove the Base Commander of CFB Kingston. Jerry took his parachuting course and moved to CFB Petawawa where he worked as a driver, paratrooper, snowmobile and truck trainer. He was sent back to Border for his Transportation Junior Management Course. He moved to Lahr, Germany where he was employed as a dispatcher, driver and Senior Instructor for the driver training.
Jerry then felt the need to parachute again and earned his German Paratrooper Wings. In Germany, he was challenged and became an unarmed Combat Instructor and a small arms rifle coach. He then moved to Edmonton where he was employed as an Instructor of Air Brakes, First Aid, Tractor/Trailer and Examiner. He ran tractor/trailer across Canada. Jerry became an Airfield Special Purpose Vehicle Specialist, operating Aerodrome Equipment to maintain the runway. Jerry and his team managed all military assets that moved by road from Winnipeg, west to Vancouver Island. He retired from the Armed Forces in 2001.

He worked as the driver/supervisor for a paper recycling company. Jerry went back on the road again and ran across Canada, where he drove turnpikes, triples and Rocky Mountains across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. He went back to an office job and a driver supervisor and TDG trainer for one of Edmonton’s largest road builders.
Jerry joined our team in 2019 and is now trained and certified as a Class 1 Melt, and Class 3 instructor.

Any other instructors are hired on an “as needed” basis. When we do need instructors, though, you can count on us to make sure we’re providing highly experienced and qualified people.
